What it is
chevron icon down

A foaming or mousse cleanser is a cleanser that foams and wash away your impurities and makeup, leaving you with clean and refreshed skin. Oily, combination and normal skin types can normally use these styles of cleanser. Dry and sensitive skin types can sometimes find foaming cleansers to be too harsh on their delicate skin. Dry skin types find they can strip their skin of the little moisture they already have, while on sensitive skin foaming cleanser can be irritating. TheGENTILE RENEWING, CLEANSING & PURIFYING BIO-FOAM is one of our best products for both men and women, providing your skin with all the nourishment it requires, while gently but effectively cleaning it too. Your senses will feel awoken and your face re-energised from the natural, therapeutic Swiss ingredients.

What it does
chevron icon down

The GENTILE CLEANSING & PURIFYING BIO-FOAM is a great product to cleanse and clean your face. Similar to washing your face with soap but a lot gentler on your skin. Its purpose is to thoroughly clean your face of all makeup and dirt that naturally builds up throughout the day and night. It is also designed to clean deep into the pores, making sure all dirt is reached and washed away, leaving you with refreshed soft, supple, and squeaky-clean skin. Oily, combinations, as well as acne-prone skin types, can certainly benefit from a foaming cleanser. This is because not only does it deep clean, it also gets rid of excess sebum/oil, and gently removes liposoluble impurities, making the skin brighter and preserving its level of hydration.

  • Gently cleanses the skin
  • Remove buildup, make-up, excess sebum and oils
  • Rebalance skin microbiota

- Positive Phyto-Complex®: This branded Complex is a unique blend, which contains Swiss plants extracted with equally exclusive methods to get the best anti-aging results. The Fermented extract of Alpine edelweiss, Rose of the Alps, and Swiss apple: it’s a pool of powerful Swiss plants with precious properties for your skin, it’s a great ally for healthy and young skin. It has:

  • Antipollution properties: it protects the skin against oxidative stress and UV rays
  • Anti-aging effect: slows down premature aging, reducing fine lines and protecting skin proteins
  • Protects skin proteins and improves skin elasticity
  • It improves skin barrier function, making the skin stronger and more resistant
  • Protects the skin from climate changes
  • Moisturizing properties

- Lentimyrth®: A fermented extract of Myrtle and Lentils active complex that maintains the skin healthy:

  • It works on the skin’s microbiome; in vivo, tests show a great improvement in the composition of the skin micro-flora after 7 days of application. The fermented extract of Myrtle and Lentisk promoted the increase of the strains of the family of Corynebacteriaceae, which restore the skin barrier function, improving its condition.
  • It improves of the 190% the antioxidant capacity of the skin, even after just one application.
  • It restores proper hydration acting on the hydro-lipid film.

- Monk’s Pepper Berries: Contains plant-derived β-endorphin-like substance that activates endorphins pathways the ”happiness hormones”. It offers a double anti-aging approach as it increases skin hydration and firmness, minimizes wrinkles and deeper lines, stimulates collagen production, and thanks to the endorphins pathways activation the skin looks healthier and vital.

- Demodex_CTRL®: Demodex (the face mite), is a microscopic arachnid that lives on human skin. The pores are its humble abode, and the sebum that the skin secretes is its favorite meal. These eight-legged creatures depend on humans for their existence and survival. Demodex mites are found in almost 90% of people and are mostly found on the tip of the nose, forehead, and ear canal, especially in areas of the face where there is a lot of sebum. Moreover, they can only be observed with the help of a microscope. Demodex mites can cause allergic reactions in some people, thus there are several associated clinical effects: rashes, acne, eyelid inflammation, corneal inflammation, dry eyes, Pterygium formation, etc. Washing your face regularly can reduce the number of Demodex mites, but it won't get rid of them all. It often happens that many people confuse some facial skin irritations with skin diseases, or external factors, continuing to use cosmetic products containing oils that do nothing but nourish these parasites. Instead, very often the causes are the excessive presence of the Demodexmite. We have therefore created and patented a natural compound based on Tea tree oil and other natural compounds, (Demodex-CTRL®) - which has been added to all our facial cleansing products - which can keep the amount of Demodex under control, and eliminate them gradually with frequent use.

- Niacinamide: A type of vitamin B3. It helps to rebalance skin moisture, minimize redness, and inflammation, and reduction in pore size over time. It helps regulate the amount of oil the sebaceous glands produce, minimizes fine lines and wrinkles, and helps to treat acne.

- Witch Hazel: rebalancing and astringent properties.

- Sage: stimulates cell renewal, reduces sebum production, and reduces redness, as it has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

- Burdock: contains powerful antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins, that help to detoxify and improve skin conditions for healthy skin.

Why you should use it
chevron icon down

Every natural beauty lover who practices prudence with their skin needs one in their cabinet. Foaming cleansers are a great alternative to using cream or milk cleansers, and for those of you, that prefer to wash their face with the use of water. The light fluffiness of a foaming cleanser truly makes you feel as though your face is having a good old-fashioned clean. Avoid using the cleansing foam if your skin is very dry. Because cleansing foams are formulated to strip oils out of your skin, they generally are not recommended for people whose skin is already dry and sensitive.

When and how to use it
chevron icon down

While cleansing foams can be a bit too harsh for some skin types, they are a great option if you have oily, acne-prone skin. Washing your face with cleansing foam will remove excess dirt and oil from your face and neck and make your skin feel fresh and clean. Before using a cleansing foam, however, you must determine if the cleansing foam is the right type of face wash for your skin. You can use a foaming cleanser either morning or night. Wet your face and apply a dollop into the palm of your clean hands, massage in upward circles, covering all areas of your face. Rinse with warm water. Follow with a splash of cold water, toner, serum, moisturizer, and your SPF (if used in the morning). If you don't already use a specific product, you can try our BALANCING & OXYGENATING BIO-TONING MIST to tone your face. This will give your skin a deep clean and may help to prevent acne. Then, finish by using your regular face cream or lotion to moisturize and hydrate your face.

Do a patch test if you have concerns about your skin
chevron icon down

People concerned about their skin’s appearance should consult a dermatologist for further advice and treatment. For these people, we also recommend a patch test. A patch test is a simple procedure that can be conducted before introducing a new product into your skincare routine. It is a simple yet effective method to test if the product works for your skin, and suits your skin type. As we all know, precaution is better than cure, so taking this simple test can prevent you from experiencing irritation, allergic reactions, breakouts, or a host of other problems that can damage your skin's barrier. While it is important for everyone to do a patch test for a new product, it is especially important for those of us who have very sensitive skin, skin conditions such as rosacea, eczema, or severe acne, or have experienced a bad reaction to new products in the past.

Unfortunately, there is no way of knowing beforehand if a product is 100% foolproof and will work for your skin. ATELIER POSITIVE® provides resellers with sample sachets from almost all the skincare references from the collection. Therefore you can make a patch test using a sample sachet of this product. Just ask one of our resellers to provide you with one. Here’s how to do a patch test:

  • Apply a small amount of product to the inside of your forearm.
  • Wait 2 days to see if you experience an adverse reaction, such as redness, itchiness, irritation, or blistering.
  • If you do react, immediately wash the area with soap and warm water. Discontinue use of the product immediately.
  • If no signs of reaction appear after 2 days, be sure to check the area again after 4 days for signs of a delayed reaction. If you don’t react after 4 days, the product is likely safe to use on your skin.
Men v/s women's skin - What is the difference
chevron icon down

Men's and women's skin differs not only in appearance but also in characteristics. As a result, men's skincare products may not always be acceptable for women. Both men and women should be aware of their skin types. If you want your skin to look and feel healthy, you must address issues including irritation, acne, aging, dark spots, and others. Male and female skin varies in a variety of ways, including thickness, sebum production, and facial hair. Hormones are the most significant difference between men and women, and they are also responsible for the differences in their skin. Testosterone is the hormone that causes males to develop masculine features, which causes their skin to be rough and necessitates a unique method that is only suitable for male skin. Estrogen aids in the development of female features in women, including the softening of their skin. Male and female skin has a few distinct characteristics. ATELIER POSITIVE® men’s skincare is specifically formulated keeping in consideration all these aspects.

The difference between a foaming mousse and cream cleanser
chevron icon down

The skin care world is a vast, all-consuming beast, and while it’s great to have options, sometimes having so many makes it hard to decide what products will work for your skin. This is especially true when it comes to cleansers. They come in many different formulations that are geared toward specific skin types. Foam cleansers are suggested for oily and acne-prone skin types since they are meant to deep clean the skin by getting rid of excess oil and sebum, as well as work to uproot any debris stuck in your pores, helping to keep your skin clean and refreshed. These cleansers often get a bad reputation because of a well-known ingredient called Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) which tends to irritate. If your skin is irritated and left feeling dry and tight by rougher surfactants, then it might just be in your best interest to try out a different cleanser or formula that isn’t so harsh on the skin. If you usually avoid foaming cleansers, other surfactants can be used to bring about that foaming texture in a gentler manner and avoid stripping the skin. For example, our BIO-BOTANICAL CLEANSING & REGENERATING MILK does not contain SLS or other harsh surfactants, its cleansing ability is due to the emulsifier and the emollients present in the formulation. If you prefer a foam cleanser, in our Gentile Cleansing & Purifying Foam, we replace SLS with some very mild surfactants that help to keep your skin balanced and moisturized after use. Cream/milk cleansers avoid the suds altogether and instead give you a creamy formula that mildly cleanses the skin. They’re meant for more sensitive, dry skin types and use natural oils and emulsifiers to cleanse the skin while helping to soothe any redness and inflammation. You’ll want to use these on dry skin, much like you would an oil cleanser, as this helps to increase its cleansing abilities, leaving you with fresh, hydrated skin.
